In the past 30 years, Fu Gang Co., Ltd. started out as a stamping OEM supplier, chose to pursue in-house design and entering the international market around mid-term, and now at present, investing even more in R&D and testing equipment. Chairman Chiang Min-heng said that the main components of windscreen wipers are metal, plastics, and rubber. However, most firms are not equipped with these three key technologies to oversee production of these components under a single roof. Fu Gang holds these three key technologies at the same time, all the while implementing strict management and fully investing in human capital, as well as other R&D resources.

The firm has chosen to stay true to its business values by producing all of its products in-house, and not compromising product quality or letting down the trust their clients have in them.

 

Fu Gang built up its reputation having undergone years of dedication to honing its expertise in windscreen wiper components. After much evaluation, the firm went ahead and entered the global market in 2003 and has garnered recognition from global clients since then. Despite many industry manufacturers’ decision to relocate their factories to other countries due to the competition and along other factors, Fu Gang still insists on local production in Taiwan, even choosing to relocate to Lize Industrial Park in Yilan in 2007. The firm invested in automatic production equipment to expand its production line and introduced the Material Resource Planning system. The firm is also transforming its company image into a self-owned brand, and making headway into the competitive industry of well-known global OEM brands.

Market Sales Manager Chiang Li-hsun pointed out that the fast development of technology has enabled a more transparent market to quickly acquire product information. This has led to an increasingly competitive AM market. Apart from offering customized orders, Fu Gang has also expanded its reach to include large-sized vehicles as well. The firm’s competitive rubber products have also seen huge challenges in many parts of the world, such as Europe and the U.S., Japan, Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania, primarily due to the extreme weather conditions that these products are to be used in. Fu Gang’s windshield wipers, which underwent laboratory testing, have accumulated positive feedback among clients who have bought and fitted the products. These clients have lauded the wipers’ durability, reliability, quietness and good water repellency characteristics. However, despite the glowing reviews, Fu Gang is not satisfied, and will continue to roll out better, new products each year to meet the vast market demands and increase its market competitiveness.
