Quality, ergonomically designed computer desks & chairs for school children

As one of Taiwan's leading furniture manufacturers, TCT Nanotech Co., Ltd. has spared no efforts improving manufacturing technology to turn out not only innovative, but also ergonomic, safe and healthy furniture products.

Established in 1983, TCT was the first company to set up a large-scale furniture chain in Taiwan and one of the first to introduce melamine knock-down (K/D) furniture to the island. "Melamine is a chemically treated paper sheet that resists fire, scratching, and moisture when bonded to the surface of a chipboard," explains Joyce Chen, TCT's vice president. "It's an environmentally friendly material that is both durable and consistent in quality."

The company has created orderly and multi-dimensional designs by incorporating other materials with melamine panes. Children's furniture occupies a key section in TCT's product pool. The company has devoted increasing efforts to this section in recent years, and has become a leading supplier in the field.

"Whenever we create a new design for children's furniture, we're careful about its functions and materials," stresses TCT R & D manager Chin-Hu Wu. "We have to take the convenience, comfort, and safety into consideration. With the increasing use of computer and internet, children and youths are spending more and more time in front of desks, so furniture makers have to consider this factor as well."

Recently the company has developed an ergonomically designed children's computer desk that is made of eco-friendly melamine board and its German pull-type gas lift is guaranteed for a 10-year duration. Besides, the top of the desk can be easily adjusted to any height suitable for either sitting or standing position and this can help release the pressure of spine and make working or studying more comfortable and healthy. "The tilting angles of the top ranges from 0 degree to 45 degrees, with 0 degree for typing, 15 degrees for writing and above 30 degrees for reading," explains Wu. "Moreover, the desk is easily movable with the installed PU-made casters that make no scratch on the floor when moving and the hidden tracks inside the feet of the desk are for storing wires."

The chairs matching the desk are available in different models. For instance, the model TC 502 features high-quality chrome-plated swivel & backrest support for greater sturdiness, safety and easy maintenance. The duo-ball backrest support can follow body movement for a comfortable fit. The model TC 501 boasts special lumbar support design that helps reduce long sitting fatigue. The seat material of both chains is high-quality memory gel foam imported form Japan.

The company's products are sold both at home and abroad, and its major export outlets are Europe and the countries in Southeast Asia.
