Powertrain mounting system is an elastic part connecting to the powetrain and chassis. The mounting system plays a role in sustaining powerplant and isolating vibration that transfer to the body and depressing the vibration shock from the road. As a essential part in vehicle, powerplant mounting systems are one of the most important assembles to improve the ride and NVH performances .
Generally the powerplant mounting system is devided into two major categories, which are rubber mounts and hydraulic mounts including conventional ones (passive style), Semi-active ones and active ones. Since the introduction of a liquid damping devices, hydraulic engine mounts have shown high damping on the low-frequency, and low-stiffness characteristic on high-frequency, which make good shock absorption and vibration isolation effects.
