IHT x TiTE Draws Global Buyers to Taiwan Tools

Lai Liang-Tzu, Chairman of THTMA, highlighted Taiwan's central region as the heart of the nation’s hand tool industry, accounting for over 70% of production and making it an ideal location for both exhibitions and factory visits. This year’s expanded virtual exhibit allowed the event to seamlessly blend online and offline interactions, creating real-time connections with buyers worldwide.
The expo also featured several industry forums led by experts from academia, government, and industry, addressing key themes such as global high-end hardware strategies, AI-integrated manufacturing, and policies on carbon tariffs and trading. “This exhibition lays the groundwork for the next decade, expanding Taiwan's role as a top-tier supplier in global hardware and tools,” Lai stated, underscoring Taiwan’s established reputation as a trusted supplier of industrial, household, aerospace, automotive, and medical hardware.
With over NT$350 billion in annual export value, Taiwan’s hardware sector stands as a global leader in quality and innovation, leading the market in mid- to high-end, professional-grade products. Chairman Lai emphasized the industry’s shift from mass production to refined quality and value-driven strategies, with Taiwan transforming standard products into exceptional offerings, positioning itself as a top choice in design and manufacturing for international buyers.
Lai pointed out that the Taiwan hardware tools industry from the early mass production transformation to quality enhancement, from the price of competition to value creation, and better at make the ordinary products to extraordinary, and in the original solid production and marketing basis, the industry continues to upgrade, in recent years, more refined product lines are actively developed industrial-grade, professional-grade market.
Amid fierce global competition and ongoing economic challenges, Taiwan’s hardware sector has stayed resilient by embracing transformation and innovation. "Facing fierce competition and global economic challenges, domestic manufacturers are eager to turn crises into opportunities," Lai noted, stressing the importance of strategic agility, R&D investment, and brand development in maintaining global competitiveness.
