Taiwan Flexes Smart Manufacturing Muscle at IMTS
2024/09/10 | By Andrew HsuPowered by the Association For Manufacturing Technology (AMT), the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) opens September 9, 2024. The Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders' Association (TMBA) leads more than 36 member manufacturers in showcasing Taiwan’s manufacturing expertise. To enhance visibility, TMBA has set up two kiosks—one in the East Hall and another in the South Hall—where international buyers can learn about the advantages of Taiwanese manufacturers through targeted advertisements.
IMTS stands as the largest manufacturing technology show in the Western Hemisphere and ranks among the top three global machine tool exhibitions alongside EMO Hannover in Germany and JIMTOF in Japan. Drawing visitors from over 110 countries, the event features advanced manufacturing solutions, with innovations in CNC machining, automation, robotics, additive manufacturing, software, inspection, and digital transformation technologies that are propelling the industry forward.
Patrick P. Chen, Chairman of TMBA, emphasizes that the U.S. market poses intricate processing requirements due to the diverse methods used across various industries. In response, Taiwan exhibitors are presenting integrated solutions that encompass milling, turning, grinding, electrical discharge machining (EDM), wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM), and more, providing customers with comprehensive, one-stop services. Furthermore, Taiwanese manufacturers are making notable strides in smart manufacturing, digital twin technologies, and green energy-saving innovations, reflecting their expanding expertise in these transformative sectors.
