TIMTOS 2021 Online has accumulated 57,535 visits in the first two days since its opening on March 15. Many online and offline events were hosted concurrently, bolstering viewership and visitation.

Organizer Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) says aside from the two-day virtual procurement sessions, this year's edition also featured live streaming events called "TIMTOS Factory Live," TIMTOS Studio for new product launches, and TIMTOS Glimpse for viewing smart manufacturing and factories.

The Smart Manufacturing Summit also touched on topics, ranging from company leaders sharing the challenges of pushing smart manufacturing in Taiwan and suggestions for education and policymaking. Other topics included how "digital twins" helped improve precision and accuracy in digital simulations.

TAITRA also found that the top buyers on the online platform were from India, Thailand, and Vietnam in the first two days of the exhibition. Buyers from the U.S., Indonesia, and Turkey are also increasing.

Statistics show that big domestic brand-names, such as Fair Friend Group, YCM CNC, VICTOR TAICHUNG, Tongtai, Hiwin, Leadwell, and Shin-Yain Industrial, are attracting the most clicks and visits. Buyers are also more invested in sourcing CNC lathes, five-axis vertical machining lathes.

The online procurement sessions saw an increase of buyers hailing from emerging countries, including Brazil, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Russia, Columbia, and Belarus.
