CNC turning centers, cam operated single spindle automatic lathes

Founded in 1978 in Taoyuan, northern Taiwan, Lico Machinery Co., Ltd. is known for manufacturing metalworking machines ranging from cam operated single-spindle automatic lathes to CNC turning centers for metal parts essential to aircrafts, vehicles, computers, plumbing fittings, optical instruments.

The company’s product lineup is categorized into automatic multi-slide CNC lathes, automatic CNC turning centers, automatic turret-type CNC lathes, automatic gang tool-type CNC lathes, and automatic Traub-type single-spindle lathes.

Its automatic multi-slide CNC lathes are capable of cutting round workpieces in diameters of 32, 42, 52, and 65 millimeters using Siemens 840D controller, and multi cutters working simultaneously and with X1Z1, X2Z2, X3Z3 and X4Z4 axial capability. An eight-position tool index turret ensures high accuracy of repeated positioning and rigidity of cutting. Indexing time ranges from 0.4 to 1.2 seconds. A built-in coolant nozzle is equipped through the cutters to their tips.

A strong in-house R&D team has developed the LNC-D family of automatic CNC turning centers, which features automatic bar feeding, 12-position live tools, and sub-spindle back machining; compact, affordable head-stock automatic sliding CNC lathes for tooling long-shaft worpieces, stainless ball valve stem, and hand tools.

Over the past few years, the company has won many honors for excellent products, including the R.O.C. Ministry of Economic Affairs’ (MOEA’s) “It’s Very Well Made In Taiwan” award, and the “Innovative Research Award of SMEs” from the MOEA, not to mention patents from Germany, Taiwan, and China.

The maker is ISO-9000 and CE Mark certified for offering good quality.

In 1990, the company set up an affiliate Likon Machinery Co., Ltd. in the Taichung Export Processing Zone, central Taiwan, and a joint venture Lipoco Enterprises Inc. in Texas, U.S.A. with LIPO to make and distribute auto parts to local manufacturers.

Lico distributes products in over 50 economies in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. (KL)
