Luh Dah Focuses on High-value Brake Parts
2009/10/06 | By Quincy Liang | LUH DAH BRAKE CORPORATIONThe Luh Dah Brake Corp., founded in 1976, now boasts ISO 9001, QS 900, and ECE Mark R90 certifications as one of Taiwan's leading manufacturers of brake likings, pads, and shoes. With more than three decades of accumulated experience and know-how, the company is proud of its ability to meet the performance and application requirements of any customer, anywhere.
The company's products, which are used on passenger cars, light trucks, heavy trucks and buses, and industrial machinery, are marketed around the world under its own LBD, HOKU, and AILOTO brands as well as prominent replacement-parts brands in industrially advanced countries. Over 95% of output is exported, mainly to markets in Asia, America, Europe, Australia, and Africa.
A strong R&D capability has enabled Luh Dah to develop more than 1,000 product items. Its current product line includes mainly non-asbestos organic (NAO) linings, pads, and discs used in brake, steering, and transmission systems. The company is also able to make high-end ceramic-fiber brake pads and shoes on order.
A senior Luh Dah official stresses that the company's brake products have two outstanding features: no noise, no dust. No-noise brake pads and discs, the official explains, present major technical challenges to other manufacturers, because they have to overcome formula and manufacturing problems which not every company can do. The company's no-dust pads and shoes contain no carbon materials, and thus do not stain wheel rims.
The official also claims that Luh Dah's products offer the best cost/performance value in the market, helping to make them popular with customers worldwide.
The company uses the most comprehensive collection of testing and inspection equipment in the field, allowing it to provide information on product performance and wear that customers need to match their specifications and performance requirements. The Japan Industry Standard (JIS) is rigidly followed in setting Luh Dah's braking-force standards.
The firm's production lines also have the most advanced equipment. Its automatic formulating machinery matched with its automatic material-scaling system, for example, can assure the most precise formula mixing and the highest, most stable product quality.
Luh Dah operates a modern, integrated 45-worker factory in the southern Taiwan county of Tainan, which is the center of auto-parts production on the island. High-quality workers and advanced management systems result in high production efficiency.
The future of the company, the official concludes, is the continued development of ever-newer, ever-better products for customers around the world.
