Advanced CNC EDMs, wire-cut machines

Ching-Hung Machinery & Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., established in 1975, is one of Taiwan's largest manufacturers of a wide range of EDMs and wire-cut machines. The company is famed for its own brands of 'CHMER' and 'GENSPARK' in the world EDM arena.

Ching-Hung has been dedicated to developing advanced manufacturing technology for high-quality and reliable EDMs. Over the past decades, the company has concentrated on developing CNC (computerized numerically controlled) EDMs.

With an in-house research and development department, Ching Hung claims it has made big breakthroughs in developing user-friendly CNC controllers along with EDM power-supply systems. The self-developed CNC controllers and power-supply systems have helped it save production costs.

The company notes its in-house software department is capable of optimizing the cutting performance of its EDM-series products between the power-supply system and controller. It also provides end-users with specific software for special applications.

The ISO9001:2000 and ISO14001-certified company says it would develop more reliable machines and step up after-sale services to customers who have dealt with the company for the past three decades.

At present, the company has 500 workers in three manufacturing plants, excluding those owned by subsidiaries, on the island. It is currently capable of rolling out 1,500 EDMs per year. The company has bought a land space to establish a new factory in the Taichung Precision Machinery Technology Industrial Park.

The company mainly exports products to the U.S. and European nations. One of its most popular products is the all-in-one compact type wire cut EDM, which features high rigidity in column structure to match a heavy loading of large workpiece, and new compact design to save space of nearly 25% compared to conventional models.

Ching Hung says it will showcase energy-saving and linear motor-based CNC EDMs at the L818 booth of the Nangang Exhibition Hall of the 2009 Taipei International Machine Tool Show slated for March 2-7. (BS)
